The typed trigger is the fastest way to use KeyShift when you are already writing. It works in any text field, and it acts on the text you typed just before the trigger word.

Write your text: an email draft, a chat message, a paragraph.

Type keyshift followed by what you want, for example keyshift make this sound professional.

Press space twice. KeyShift shows a small Working… card, replaces the text in place, and the trigger words disappear with it.

Changed your mind?
Press Ctrl+Shift+Z to put the original back. KeyShift keeps the last 20 changes.
Instant run
In Settings, turn on Instant run to skip the double space: the trigger runs as soon as you stop typing. Space twice is the safer default; it never fires while you are still thinking.
Live translate
Settings → Live translate lets you type in your own language and have every double space replace it with the translation. Handy for a long chat with someone abroad.
The trigger only sees what you typed in one go before the word keyshift. If you pressed Enter in between, or want to rewrite text that was already there, select it and use Quick Actions instead, or turn on Settings → Rewrite the whole text field to have the trigger take the entire field.
Settings → Trigger word changes keyshift to another word if you prefer, and Pause typed triggers in the tray menu switches the trigger off for a while. The utility triggers /calc, /search and /yt keep working on their own.
