AI for WhatsApp
AI for WhatsApp: translate and fix messages as you chat
Translate, fix and rewrite WhatsApp messages with AI, on WhatsApp Desktop and Web (Windows, Mac) and with the KeyShift keyboard on Android. Live translate while you chat. Free plan.
WhatsApp is where you talk to family abroad, the landlord, the customer who found you on Instagram, the group that plans the trip. Half of it is in a language you are not fully at home in, and all of it is typed fast.
KeyShift works on WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web on Windows and macOS, and as a keyboard on Android. Fix the message before sending, translate what they wrote, reply in their language, or turn on Live translate and chat in your own language while they read theirs.
What you can do with KeyShift in WhatsApp

What WhatsApp's own AI covers
Meta AI in WhatsApp is a chat you talk to and, in some regions, a writing helper inside the app. Availability depends on country and account. KeyShift works on your text in WhatsApp regardless of region, and the same shortcuts work in Telegram, Slack and your email.
How KeyShift works, in any app
- Quick Actions: select text, press Ctrl+Shift+A (⌘⇧A on Mac), pick an action. The result replaces the selection.
- The typed trigger: write normally, add keyshift plus your instruction, press space twice. No selection, no shortcut.
- Voice (Ctrl+Shift+M), text from screen (Ctrl+Shift+O) and clipboard history (Ctrl+Shift+V) for the text you do not have yet.
- Undo any replacement with Ctrl+Shift+Z, up to 20 steps.
Windows 10 and later, macOS 11 and later, and Android. See the getting started guide.
Tips for WhatsApp
- On desktop, WhatsApp sends on Enter. Use the typed trigger with space twice and the rewrite happens before sending.
- Translate incoming messages by selecting them; the result opens in a small window since you cannot edit someone else's message.
- On Android, the KeyShift keyboard has a Translate chip for the message you are writing and an Undo chip if you change your mind.
Questions people ask
Does it work on the WhatsApp phone app?
On Android, yes, through the KeyShift keyboard from Google Play. On iPhone it is coming; leave your email on the homepage and we will tell you.
Can other people see that I used AI?
No. The message is plain text typed into WhatsApp like any other. Nothing is added or marked.
Is my chat read by KeyShift?
Only the text you select or type for an action is sent to the AI provider, for that action, and it is not used to train models.
