Clipboard history

Everything you copied, searchable, with AI on top

A clipboard manager for Windows and macOS that keeps everything you copy, lets you search it and pin what you reuse, and runs AI actions on any clip: translate it, summarize it, fix it, then paste. Local, free.

Ctrl+Shift+V (⌘⇧V on Mac)Free, stored on your device

The clipboard holds one thing. The address you copied ten minutes ago is gone the moment you copy a link. macOS has no clipboard history at all; Windows has a basic one behind Win+V.

KeyShift keeps a history of what you copy, searchable by any word in it, with pins for the snippets you paste every day. And because it sits inside KeyShift, any clip can go straight into an action: translate the paragraph you copied from a PDF, summarize the thread, fix the sentence, then paste the result.

How to use it

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+V in any app. The history opens with the newest clip on top.
  2. Type to search; a word from anywhere in the clip is enough. Pin the ones you reuse so they stay at the top.
  3. Press Enter to paste a clip where your cursor is, or pick an action (Translate, Summarize, Fix grammar, your own) to run it on the clip first.
  4. From the Launcher (Ctrl+Shift+Space) you can also type a word to find a clip without opening the history.

What it keeps and how

  • Text clips, with the time and the app they came from, stored on your device. Nothing syncs or uploads.
  • Search across the whole history, not only the last few items.
  • Pins for signatures, addresses, codes and the three sentences you paste every day.
  • AI on a clip: translate, summarize, change the tone or run a custom action, and paste the result instead of the original.
  • Undo with Ctrl+Shift+Z if the paste landed somewhere wrong.

Tips

  • Pin your email signature, your address and your IBAN once; they are two keystrokes away forever.
  • Copy a paragraph from a PDF in another language, open the history, run Translate, paste. No translation tab.
  • Clear the history from the window if you copied something you would rather not keep around.

How KeyShift works, in any app

  • Quick Actions: select text, press Ctrl+Shift+A (⌘⇧A on Mac), pick an action. The result replaces the selection.
  • The typed trigger: write normally, add keyshift plus your instruction, press space twice. No selection, no shortcut.
  • Voice (Ctrl+Shift+M), text from screen (Ctrl+Shift+O) and clipboard history (Ctrl+Shift+V) for the text you do not have yet.
  • Undo any replacement with Ctrl+Shift+Z, up to 20 steps.

Questions people ask

Is my clipboard history uploaded?

No. It is stored on your computer only. The content of a clip is sent to the AI only when you run an action on it, for that action.

Does it capture passwords?

Anything you copy as text can land in the history. Password managers that mark clips as sensitive are respected where the OS supports it; clear the history or delete a clip if you copied a secret.

Does it keep images and files?

Text, including links and code. For text inside an image, use Text from screen instead.
