What Outlook's own AI covers
Microsoft 365 Copilot can draft and coach in Outlook when your organisation has bought the Copilot licence. Many people do not have it, and it stays inside Microsoft apps. KeyShift works on any Outlook account, personal or company, and in every other app on your machine.
How KeyShift works, in any app
- Quick Actions: select text, press Ctrl+Shift+A (⌘⇧A on Mac), pick an action. The result replaces the selection.
- The typed trigger: write normally, add keyshift plus your instruction, press space twice. No selection, no shortcut.
- Voice (Ctrl+Shift+M), text from screen (Ctrl+Shift+O) and clipboard history (Ctrl+Shift+V) for the text you do not have yet.
- Undo any replacement with Ctrl+Shift+Z, up to 20 steps.

Tips for Outlook
- In the classic Outlook desktop app, if the result opens in a window instead of replacing in place, use Copy and paste it; some old editors block typing in place.
- Save a custom action for your signature style and one for your company's tone (Pro).
- Use voice typing (Ctrl+Shift+M) for the first draft of long emails, then Make professional.

Do I need a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence?
No. KeyShift is independent of Microsoft licensing and works with Outlook.com, Exchange and Microsoft 365 accounts alike.
Will my IT department need to install an add-in?
No add-in. KeyShift is a desktop app that works on the text in any field. Installation needs no admin rights on most machines.
Is company email safe to use with it?
Text goes to the AI provider only for the action you run and is not used for training. On Pro you can use your own key or a local model through Ollama so nothing leaves your network.
