KeyShift was built because its founder was copying text into ChatGPT far too many times a day. It runs the same class of models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) on the text where it already is. Select, one shortcut, and the result replaces the original. The chat is still there in the Launcher when you want it.

What KeyShift does instead
- No round trip. Select the sentence in Gmail, press Ctrl+Shift+A, choose Make professional. Done, in Gmail.
- The typed trigger. Finish the message, add keyshift fix grammar and press space twice. The trigger words vanish with the fix.

How KeyShift works, in any app
- Quick Actions: select text, press Ctrl+Shift+A (⌘⇧A on Mac), pick an action. The result replaces the selection.
- The typed trigger: write normally, add keyshift plus your instruction, press space twice. No selection, no shortcut.
- Voice (Ctrl+Shift+M), text from screen (Ctrl+Shift+O) and clipboard history (Ctrl+Shift+V) for the text you do not have yet.
- Undo any replacement with Ctrl+Shift+Z, up to 20 steps.

Questions people ask
Can I use my ChatGPT subscription with KeyShift?
Not the subscription, but on Pro you can add an OpenAI API key and KeyShift will use it directly, at provider cost, with no credits used.
Does KeyShift replace ChatGPT for long conversations?
No, and it does not try to. Keep the chat app for research and long threads. Use KeyShift for the text in front of you.
