Text Blaze alternative
A Text Blaze alternative when the answer is never quite the same twice
A Text Blaze alternative for people who want AI, not templates. KeyShift rewrites, replies and translates on command in any app on Windows and Mac. Custom actions with hotkeys, free plan.
Text Blaze expands snippets: type a short code, get the full template. For answers you send word for word a hundred times, nothing beats it.
KeyShift is for the other hundred: the replies that need the customer's name, their actual question and the right tone. Select the incoming message, pick Reply, and the answer is drafted from the message itself. Or save your own instruction as a custom action with a hotkey, so "answer this politely, offer the refund, keep it short" is one keypress.
What Text Blaze is built around
- Snippets you write in advance, with placeholders and forms.
- A Chrome extension, with a Windows app for desktop coverage.
- AI as a helper inside snippets, not as the main mechanism.
What KeyShift does instead
- Reply from context. Select the email or ticket, press Ctrl+Shift+A, choose Reply. The draft answers what was actually asked.
- Custom actions as living snippets. The instruction is the template; the AI fills it from the real text. Each custom action gets its own hotkey on Pro.
- The typed trigger for one-off asks: keyshift turn this into three bullet points, then space twice.
- AI Workflows on Pro for the multi-step cases: summarize the ticket, draft the answer, translate it.
- Works in any app at the operating-system level: Zendesk, HubSpot, Intercom, Outlook, Teams.

How KeyShift works, in any app
- Quick Actions: select text, press Ctrl+Shift+A (⌘⇧A on Mac), pick an action. The result replaces the selection.
- The typed trigger: write normally, add keyshift plus your instruction, press space twice. No selection, no shortcut.
- Voice (Ctrl+Shift+M), text from screen (Ctrl+Shift+O) and clipboard history (Ctrl+Shift+V) for the text you do not have yet.
- Undo any replacement with Ctrl+Shift+Z, up to 20 steps.

Questions people ask
Can I keep my snippets and add KeyShift?
Yes. Keep the expander for fixed text and use KeyShift when the reply depends on what the other person wrote. They do not interfere.
Can KeyShift insert a fixed block of text?
A custom action with an instruction like "output exactly this signature" works, but a true expander is better for fixed text. KeyShift shines where the text changes every time.
Does it work in my helpdesk tool?
Yes, in any text field: Zendesk, Freshdesk, HubSpot, Intercom, in the browser or the desktop app.
