AI launcher

One search box for every tool, and the AI behind it

A launcher for Windows and macOS built around text: press Ctrl+Shift+Space to search every KeyShift tool and action, type maths for an instant answer, find a clipboard entry, or press Tab to ask the AI and insert the answer where you are typing.

Ctrl+Shift+Space (⌘⇧Space on Mac)Free; Ask the AI is Pro

Launchers started as a faster way to open apps. Spotlight, Alfred and Raycast still do that well. KeyShift's Launcher is a different idea: a box for what you want to do with text, which is what you were about to do anyway.

Press Ctrl+Shift+Space in any app. Type a tool name to open it, an expression to calculate it, a word to find something you copied, or press Tab and ask the AI a question and insert the answer where your cursor was. There is no home screen to learn; the Launcher is the app.

How to use it

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Space. The box opens over whatever you are doing.
  2. Type what you want: Translate, Fix grammar, a custom action, a workflow, or the name of a tool. Enter runs it on your selection.
  3. Type maths like 12 * 8 or 15% of 240 for an instant answer. Type a word to search your clipboard history.
  4. Press Tab for Chat (Pro): ask anything, then Insert the answer into the field you came from.

What lives in the Launcher

  • Every built-in action: fix, translate, summarize, make professional, reply, bullet points.
  • Your custom actions and AI Workflows (Pro), so a three-step workflow is one search away.
  • Quick maths and unit-style expressions, answered as you type.
  • Clipboard search: a word from any clip finds it; Enter pastes it.
  • Ask the AI (Pro): a chat that knows it is sitting over a text field, with Insert to drop the answer where you were.
  • Every other tool: voice input, text from screen, clipboard history, settings.

Tips

  • Keep your current launcher for opening apps. KeyShift's Launcher is for text, and the two shortcuts do not clash.
  • Type the first letters of a custom action; the match is instant. Give the one you use most its own hotkey instead.
  • Click into the right field before you Insert an answer from Chat; it types where the cursor is.

How KeyShift works, in any app

  • Quick Actions: select text, press Ctrl+Shift+A (⌘⇧A on Mac), pick an action. The result replaces the selection.
  • The typed trigger: write normally, add keyshift plus your instruction, press space twice. No selection, no shortcut.
  • Voice (Ctrl+Shift+M), text from screen (Ctrl+Shift+O) and clipboard history (Ctrl+Shift+V) for the text you do not have yet.
  • Undo any replacement with Ctrl+Shift+Z, up to 20 steps.

Questions people ask

Does it replace Raycast, Alfred or PowerToys Run?

No. It does not open apps or files. It is the launcher for KeyShift's tools and actions, and it runs next to whichever app launcher you already use.

Is the Launcher free?

Yes. Searching tools, running actions, quick maths and clipboard search are on the Free plan. Ask the AI (the chat behind Tab) is Pro.

Can I change the shortcut?

Yes, under Settings → Shortcuts. Every KeyShift shortcut is global and can be changed or switched off.
